In Transit-ion:

A Poetic MRT Journey

In March 2021, Orang Orang Drum Theatre (OODT) gathered more than 20 local artists from different fields to launch a public performing arts project titled "In Transit-ion: A Poetic MRT Journey". The project had been interrupted midway due to the pandemic. With the gradual recovery of economic activities, the artists can finally return to the city stage, the MRT space, and through performing arts, nurture peoples’ spiritual needs and heal depressed urban souls living under the pandemic.

Zyee Leow, one of the curators of this project, said: "In this global fight against the pandemic, while solving the physical problems caused by diseases, we must not ignore our mental and psychological health and needs, and art is the best form of therapy.”

The performances will use the urban space as their creative backdrop and adopt the MRT and surrounding areas as their stage, inviting audiences to re-imagine the scenes of life in Kuala Lumpur along the Klang River through an artistic lens, writing pandemic poetry for our great city through movement.

Four pieces:

《Happiness in Repetition》《焚 Bakar》《离天堂最近的地方 A Step From Heaven》《请不要看我 Please Don't Look at Me》
